Active Bible Study and Outreach with a view toward Church Planting is going on in several cities in the Midwest Presbytery.
Manahattan, KS - Daughter work of Hebron, RPC. Manhattan is the home of Kansas State Universtiy and close to Ft. Riley Army base. A vital student ministry is underway with weekly discipleship, fellowship, and worship Sunday evenings. The Presbytery took the next step toward establishing a mission church by appointing a Manhattan Commission this summer. Please pray for fruit to be granted through the student ministry.
Enid, OK - Daughter work of the Stillwater RPC. Enid is the home of Vance Air Force Base and attracts a number of military and related industries. Weekly studies occur Sunday evening, going through the book of Hebrews. The Stillwater congregation sends 15 – 20 people to this each week, along with the Wagner family who lives in Enid. This summer, Stillwater and Enid hosted a Mission Team which led a VBS at the local YMCA. They averaged 40 children in attendance, all completely new contacts. To follow that up, they plan a public evangelistic presentation in October titled "Who is Jesus?" You can visit their website at www.EnidReformed.org. Please pray for conversions and for core families to be a part of the work there.
Hutcheson, KS - Daughter work of Sterling RPC. Weekly meetings bring together members and friends in Hutcheson for Bible study and prayer. They have been studying through the RC Sproul video series on Worldviews and will begin a study on Acts next. They note the blessing of bonding and unity of spirit among the core group. Please pray for a place for the group to meet and for their to be a passion for Christ that prompts evangelism.
Bentonville, AR - This region of Arkansas has been growing at an astonishing rate, mainly because it is the International headquarters for WalMart. This has attracted many businesses to relocate in order to be in better position to do business. While it is Bible Belt America, the growing population still needs to know of Christ and the doctrines of grace. Several families meet weekly for study and singing. One family carries on an active outreach to Chinese students.
